NEWS
Students must turn 5 by August 31, 2013 to be eligible to register for kindergarten. Please call MECC at (302) 335-5039 to schedule a time to bring your child to the school so that he / she can be screened while you register for kindergarten. Families will need to bring the following information to registration:
• An original copy of the child’s birth certificate
• Photo ID of the parent / guardian registering the child
• Proof of residency with your name and current address (must match photo ID information)
• Acceptable documents include mortgage, rental agreement, electric bill, gas bill, or water bill
• The district does NOT accept phone bills or cable bills as proof of residency
• If you do not rent or own your home, please contact the McIlvaine office so our staff can explain the additional residency information that is needed (335-5039)
• Guardianship papers, if applicable
• Any health records (shots, physical, and allergy related documentation)
WEATHER PENDING, the ceremony will be outside, which will allow additional family members to attend each of the slated sessions. Gowns for the ceremony will be provided by the school. However, we would ask that each child purchase their own cap and tassel for $5.00 (this will be your keepsake from the event). You may send in cash or checks made payable to McIlvaine ECC for the purchase of the cap and tassel ASAP.

Rider Pride Shoelaces
Has
your child visited the office yet to receive his / her “Rider Pride”
shoelaces? Shoe tying is an important readiness skill and it
makes playing safer for students. We want all of the students
at
McIlvaine ECC to know how to tie their shoes. Once your child
knows how to tie his / her shoes, he / she will come to school and
demonstrate this skill to his / her teacher. Once the teacher
sees the child tie his / her shoes, the student will be sent to the
office to receive a pair of blue and gold “Rider Pride” shoelaces from
the principals. We hope that your child comes to school soon
ready to show their teacher and the principals that they know how to
tie their shoes. Happy practicing! Box
tops, Campbell's Labels, and Caprisun Pouches
Don’t
forget to remind
your family, friends, and neighbors to collect Boxtops, Campbell’s
labels, and Caprisun pouches for our school. Boxtops and
Campbell’s labels must be cut along the dotted line and show the
expiration date. Caprisun pouches need to be emptied of all
juice and dried with a paper towel. Please send these items
to school with your child…the more we collect, the more we can do for
our students.
